Ride the Abers cycle route
Ride into history! Take a route away from the main roads, along an old railway line! The famous "potato train" used to criss-cross the countryside, carrying loads of vegetables, shellfish and other goods between Brest and the port of Aber Wrac'h. Today, more than 30 km of signposted tracks lead you into the quiet heart of the countryside, for an ideal family cycling outing from the port of Aber Wrac'h via the Aber Benoît river!
Enjoy the coastal cycle route
Along the coastline, where geography allows, this cycle route takes you as close as possible to 100% seaside landscapes! Criss-crossing Brittany, from Roscoff to St Nazaire, it takes you close to beaches and magnificent viewpoints, but also as close as possible to the shores of the Abers, in the shade of trees and sheltered from the wind. The gradient is a little steeper, but nothing is impossible in the Abers! You'll enjoy a panoramic or picnic break along the way, from Plouguerneau to Saint-Pabu. The Abers will soon hold no more secrets for you!
The Accueil Vélo label
The Accueil Vélo scheme was created on the initiative of the Centre Region and its Comité Régional du Tourisme. It is based on the Eurovéloroute des fleuves accommodation standards, and the standards for bike rental companies, visitor sites and tourist offices developed as part of the "Loire à vélo" initiative.
Ownership of the Accueil Vélo brand is now shared by the Comité Régional du Tourisme Centre - Val de Loire and the France Vélo Tourisme association.
The Accueil Vélo brand is intended to federate a uniform, identifiable range of services for cycling tourists, in line with this national ambition.
What is the Accueil Vélo label?
- Accueil vélo commits professionals to offering a welcome and services adapted to cycling tourists.
- Accueil Vélo enables cycling tourists to identify establishments and places that are suitable for cycling tourism, and to benefit from a warm welcome and appropriate services.
- Accueil Vélo is a brand available to local authorities, tourism institutions and companies involved in the development of bicycle tourism.
