Why experience this event?
Mona receives a letter. It's from her paternal grandmother, whom she doesn't know, asking her to come and see her... and quickly. Intrigued, the little girl takes the plane to Reunion Island. She wonders. Her grandmother is very dark-skinned, but she's white.
Who is this family? What's the story behind the blood that runs through her veins? She wants to understand. Her journey will lead her to overcome her fears and meet her ancestors. This genealogy is interwoven with the history of the island: colonization, slavery, miscegenation, the primary forest and its "creatures". As she searches for her roots, links are forged and a history is reconstructed. By discovering this half of herself that is foreign to her, she will be able to fill the "floating part" inside her.
