Concert: Raphaël Lemonnier & la Trova project

Concert organized as part of the La Caravane World Music Festival, in partnership with Hot Club Jazz Iroise.
With a repertoire that blends blues and old Cuban songs, jazz pianist Raphaël Lemonnier (China Moses, Camille...) delivers a revisited score of Trova (Cuban song) with this project that sounds like a perfect communion between the Cuba of the 30s and 50s and the blues. Raphaël's jazz piano dialogues with Rémi Charmasson's vintage blues guitar on calypsos, mambos and old boleros tinged with jazz and blues. Xavier Desandre-Navarre's percussion and Lilian Bencini's double bass lay down the rhythms under texts and songs by Eliène Castillo (winner of the
jazz prize in Havana) and Clara Tudela, describing the beauty of women, betrayals, slums, a world of musicians and dance.
